The girls soccer teams at Boerne High School and Champion High School have earned berths in their respective state tournaments in Georgetown. The teams won their regional tournaments over the weekend to qualify for UIL state competition.

Both teams will be challenged by opponents that are no strangers to state-level competition. The Greyhounds (20-4-1) play Jasper (26-1) at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in the Class 4A state semifinal. Jasper is making its third straight appearance at state, having lost in the finals last season.

Greyhound Nation will host a send-off from the Boerne High School campus on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

The Chargers (16-8-2) draw Dallas Highland Park (25-0), the nation's No. 1 team in the SIMA Fab 50 rankings, at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13, in a 5A state semifinal match-up. Highland Park is making its fifth trip to state in six seasons.

Champion High School will host a pep rally for the team at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday; the team departs for Georgetown later that day.
