A veteran Texas educator has been named Principal of Cibolo Creek Elementary School. The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Eleanor “Ellie” Maxwell, who will assume the leadership role at Cibolo Creek in the upcoming 2012-13 academic year.
“It is a true privilege to have Ellie join our team and bring her educational and administrative expertise to our district,” said BISD superintendent David Stelmazewski, “She was recently selected to attend the Principals’ Center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal Center. This speaks highly of her credentials and her ongoing commitment to excellence in education.
“As we welcome Principal Maxwell, I want to express appreciation on behalf of the district to Laurel Babb, who helped establish Cibolo Creek and who was both a leader and friend for our students and faculty. We wish her well in her new role in the Alamo Heights district.”
Maxwell joins the Cibolo Creek administrative team after serving as principal at Henry T. Brauchle Elementary School in San Antonio’s Northside ISD since 2003. She had previously served as vice principal for Brauchle. Maxwell’s classroom experience began in 1989 when she joined the faculty of Northside ISD’s Thornton Elementary School. In 2000, she was named NISD Teacher of the Year while serving Locke Hill Elementary School.
As evidenced by her participation in the Harvard program and other professional associations, Maxwell is committed to building solid learning environments for her students through ongoing education and training. She holds a master’s degree in Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville (formerly Texas A&I University) and an undergraduate degree in Education from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University).
